I joined the tv series quite late on but went to see the film with an understanding and appreciation of the girls characters and their friendship. The friend I went with had never seen a single episode! so while I was waiting for an enjoyable trip down memory lane I was worried she wouldn't enjoy it as much as me. I was wrong and she was soon laughing out loud with tears in her eyes. It's been four long years since we left Carrie in Paris with Mr. Big and the promise of happily ever after, so was it going to be a whirlwind of filling in the gaps and shoes and outfits, or a shocking 'look what's happened now 4 years on'........ would we get a happy ending.......

I feel their stories were as poignant as a film can be, and the issues they face are certainly things me and my friends can relate to (well maybe not quite the sushi), although I think primarily it's the importance of the girls friendships and the bond between them that really appeals, although the idea of seeing Smith again was appreciated! Then again, is finding love in the big city -- and writing about it once you've found it -- just too predictable and sappy ?? well I enjoyed it immensely but to me films are to be experienced and enjoyed for what they are entertainment. (Jennifer Hudson, Carrie's new assitant, I thought was really good too.)

It's difficult to comment more without giving the plot away but I'd reccommend the film as a good giggle and a good feel good factor movie - it's like good therapy to have a real good proper laugh and a pretend (as in not in your life) emotional roller coaster ride. It's also good to be reminded in our busy busy lives that good friends are worth their weight in gold, we don't all need to be the same or actually have loads in common even, but as friends we should appreciate each other and the fact we're not alone as long as we have these kind of friends close by.
I just organised a reunion of some of my old buddies who geographically have moved far and wide! 20 texts later, the miracle has happened and all 4 of us have a date we can do - I am so looking forward to it!

I went to see the film with my other half...at his suggestion! he was very quiet afterwards, seems it was a bit of an insight for him into my former 'single' liefstyle!

Needless to say I loved it, grreat chic lit, great reminder of friends and a good night out - i wore my highest pink heels!!

Hi ladies, I too went to see SaTC film, not quite on the opening night but on the Friday. I went with 2 girlfriends and had dinner beforehand. I have not been to a film before where almost 95% of the screen was FULL and made up of FEMALES. Sue, I know you said you went with hubby, but you could spot the guys who had been dragged along not having a clue about what the film was - except that it had the word SEX in the title!!!

Seriously though, it was great to finally find out what the lives of the characters had thrown at them, as yes, i echo the comment about the female comraderie that we all enjoy. Where would we be without our girlfriends to bounce stuff off?

Overall a very enjoyable film, evening and fashion fest'! Oh, whilst on that subject (fashion) close to my heart, you may be interested to know that:

"M&S to launch Patricia Field range this Autumn" (she being the brainchild behind the fantastic, if not quirky outfits to the series and film!)
M&S have signed a deal with SaTC celebrity stylist, Patricia Field, for a one-off clothing range, due to hit stores in October. This is the first time the UK retailer has worked with a designer on a one-off range that will be sold in UK and overseas stores....

Hi Fiona

It would be great if you could blog about the Patricia Field launch at M & S. Do you take clients shopping?
