Networking is helping women to grow their business to such an extent that many of them find it difficult to meet up between the monthly meetings and need another way to keep in touch. Sylvia has become involved in Business Womens Cafe as she sees it as a perfect way to keep busy women connected, introduce them to new contacts and provide all the training and support they require as they take their business to a higher level. Sylvia was raised in a strict Baptist family where her passion for helping people achieve a better life was awakened at a very tender age. She poured herself into a career in nursing, midwifery and latterly as a theatre sister in ‘Open Heart Surgery’. When the only option for further career progression became an administration role she decided to follow another passion – health and fitness. Sylvia opened a Health Food business and derived great pleasure from helping people to feel fitter and more energised. Looking for new challenges and direction after escaping an unhappy marriage, Sylvia used her medical and selling experience to secure a role in the Pharmaceutical Industry where she received excellent training in selling and presentation skills and regularly ran meetings to present new products to Consultants, GPs and Senior Healthcare Professionals. Sylvia’s success led to her being enlisted to train new salespeople and build her own team. Her skills were greater enhanced by working for a motivation company which specialised in selling ‘campaigns’ to companies to increase employee involvement and motivation. She was responsible for organising and running breakfast meetings at which she presented the campaign strategies to senior company executives followed by face to face meetings in the workplace. Sylvia’s current role as Business Development Director for Assured Future – Independent Financial Advisers, led her into networking which was so successful that she decided to become more involved and is now a Regional Director of The Athena Network. Sylvia’s diverse experience in networking has led to her developing training courses to help others maximise the vast potential of the whole networking opportunity. Sylvia is passionate about helping women to realise their full potential, achieve their goals and fulfil their dreams. |

Sylvia currently runs several very successful networking groups for business women in Bucks and Berks.
